The Internship Program at the Philo School/Pharm is a work/study program open to Wwoofers and others.  This is beyond question one of the most beautiful places any where!  Interns are here anywhere from 3 - 12 weeks.  Pitch a tent in the meadow under the magnificent redwoods and enjoy the beauty of a redwood forest.  We are solar and organic.

Interns and Wwoofers work only 4 days a week (24 hrs/wk) and the others are free. Garden work is most intense in March and April (and help needed the most then). This is also a really spectacular time of year when we actually have plenty of water. As we move from Spring to summer, there is more carpentry focus with maintenance in the garden.  In the Fall things again gear up in the garden with harvesting and other work.ChaninHouston
Work involves organic gardening and cultivation, some building and carpentry, and help during classes - and whatever else comes up on a farm/school.  The work part is 3 days a week, 6 hours a day, Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday or Sunday. Assistance during classes (3rd wkend/month) counts as work.
Attend classes free, get to know the medicinal plants, and learn basic Plant Spirit Medicine communication and research.

Three days a week are free time.  The live-in internship is for mature students or Wwoofers who can function well left to themselves.  It is strongly encouraged that you bring whatever creative endeavors that are important to you - drawing, musical insturments, writing and such - that will help to optimize your time Shaylahere.  The farm is rural, having your own car helps.  No cell phone reception but it's a short walk to where it is. Phonecards are a great idea.
A good natural foods store, Boontberry, is here in the valley and more stores are on the coast. I'll supply you with basics - rice and produce from the garden and some more, but BE PREPARED TO BUY some of your own food - particularly those hard to get super-hip foods that cost a fortune!.

Wwoofers and interns work hard.  Much of the work is demanding and physical and a lot of fun.  Working amid the beautiful medicinal plants - over 100 species - and the ornamentals. fruit trees and veggies, with the redwoods watching and overseeing everything, is a magnificent experience.  One that I personally rejoice in every day.

This hands on experiential learning is augmented by the classes and apprenticeships.  Also the library is always available and it is very good.
