Mary Pat Palmer, MA, RH, was co-founder of the Boston School of Herbal Energetics, pictured with partners Madelon Hope and Kwah Wa'Adabi. She moved herself and the school to Northern California in 2002, and is shown in 2005 with her daughter Maia and granddaughter Mikaela.
While in Boston, she was also the e ditor of the Journal of the Northeast Herbal Association and Vice President of that organization, as well as a psychotherapist for 20 years and at one time President of the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselor Association..
Her current school, The Philo School of Herbal Energetics, offers apprenticeships, classes, internships and more. In addition, Mary Pat offers herbal consults, in all areas, particularly with cancer. She has studied with world famous herbalists, written extensively and done research in Cuba and Peru as well as the U.S. The Philo School library has an extensive collection of books on herbalism for students to use.
Mary Pat has been an herbalist and organic gardener for about 40 years. Her gardening emphasis is on medicinal herbs and she has over 200 species of medicinal herbs in the gardens. She also grows vegetables, ornamentals and she has orchards of fruit trees. Her Philo gardens are extensive and beautiful.

7Song, Director of the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine, hasbeen studying, teaching and perusing his interest in plants for over25 years. He is the Director of Holistic Medicine at theIthaca FreeClinic and a professional member of the American Herbalists Guild.7Song is on the faculty of the Tai Sophia Institute, California Schoolof Herbal Studies, Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine, as well as teaching at conferences and schools throughout the United States. He devotes much of his waking hours studying the innumerable intriguing aspects of plants. He has expertise in the use of herbal medicine in emergency, trauma and first aid care and is a field botanist who delights in keying-out, photographing and investigating the intricate botanical details of plants and their surroundings. He views herbal medicine, an age-old practice that connects people and their surroundings with personal, ecological and the political impact involved. Ryan Drum, PhD, RH
Ryan Drum has been a practicing medical herbalist inn private and clinical practice for over 30 years, specializing in seaweed therapies, men's health issues, and thyroid problems.
He currently is a community-supported herbalist on an isolated island in Washington State, where he lives in a hilltop cabin he built.
Whilst becoming an herbalist, he has been mostly living on a rustic homestead , off the grid, without indoor plumbing since 1976.
He is the proud father of three and grandfather of two.
He believes in true patient autonomy, the inherent right to freely choose one's caregivers without regard to professional qualifications or lack thereof.

Matthew Wood, MSc, RH
Matthew is the author of many books, to include Seven Herbs, Plants as Teachers,(1987), Vitalism, The History of Herbalism, Homeopathy and Flower Essences (1993), The Book of Herbal Wisdom (1998), and The Practice of Traditional Western Herbalism (2004).
Matthew has been a practicing herbalist since 1982 and is an active practitioner of traditional Western herbalism. Jolie Lonner Egert, MS
Jolie is a botanist, ecologist and herbalist. Jolie discovered her love of herbal medicine while working as a field botanist fifteen years ago. In her passion to know plants on the botanical, medicinal and ecological realms, she studied at the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine, Dandelion School of Herbal Studies, and Humboldt State University where she researched the sustainable harvest of medicinal plants for her Master's degree in Natural Resources. She has worked on four continents with projects pertaining to the sustainable harvest and economic development of medicinal plants. Jolie manages environmental advocacy and restoration projects and is the Principal at Go Wild Consulting, a company that fosters healthy ecosystems that include sustainable and traditional uses by humans.

Pam Montgomery
Pam Montgomery received training from Empire State College in Alternative Health Education. She is the originator of Green Terrestrial Herbal Products of Vermont and was one of the founding members of the Northeast Herbal Association where she served as their president for four years. For a decade, Pam was on the Executive Council of the Board of Directors of United Plant Savers, an organization dedicated to preservation of our native medicinal plants. Pam has been organizing the Green Nations Gathering for the past seventeen years and presented the Spirit Healing conference for the first time in 2005. She teaches workshops internationally on herbal medicine, Plant Spirit Healing, and spiritual ecology. Pam is the author of Partner Earth; A Spiritual Ecology published by Inner Traditions and a contributing author in Planting the Future.
